A Christmas Gift for My Riders

Dear Riders! (see I used it!),

I have written you all a little Christmas gift. Its a Christmas outtake from TRoYL. I have to warn you that it has a few spoilers because it jumps ahead of the story, so obviously there will be a little glimpse into the future of these two love birds. There's a mild lemon for my Lemonaids and sweet loving for my Tweethearts. I am so grateful that you are all reading. You say the sweetest things and aid me in my delusion that I can write. Hahaha! We should all really be committed for our delusions. I'm just saying that birds of a feather... ;)

The Women of FanFic...

I am quick to admit that I am a newcomer to the fandom. Hell, I only read my first Twific back in May, so I'm still cutting my fic teeth.

The first fic I read was by LolaShoes, "Let Your Light Shine" and I immediately read the sequel, "A Life Extraordinary". From there I started scouring popular authors' favorite lists to find new fics to read.

In my search I came across lesser known (to me) fics. Fics like "Legacy", "Horizons", and "Teacher's Pet" (Which I have rec-ed on this blog). I fully intended to be entertained by these silly works of fiction. What I didn't expect, was to come to deeply respect and care for their authors, but I have done just that.

You should know that I have out of this world Real Life friends. They support, love, and put up with my crazy ass. I love spending every possible moment with those fleshy peeps of mine. I'm a BIG hugger, so I love to lavish them with hugs! There's nothing like looking at your bestie and not having to say a word, they just get you! Scary, or should I say, amazingly enough, I have come to feel the same about a group of women whom I have never met, but I hope and pray that will someday change.

I think we are all pretty clear about how I feel about my Darth Beta, Dizzygrl28. The simplest way to say it is that I love her. She not only fixes my messes, but she never laughs at my stupid mistakes, she scours the Interwebs for the perfect song for my chappies, she laughs with me, she celebrates with me, and she talks me off of bridges. I am doing everything in my power to meet this woman next year. If for no other reason but to thank her personally for what she has done for me. She has given me confidence and wings. She is my biggest cheerleader and yet, she lurks in the background. I can't wait to give her the biggest hug when I finally stand before her. Consider yourself warned, Mel!

While I adore Dizzy, I have come to understand that the way we feel about our fic relationship isn't exclusive to the two of us. Most authors feel this way about their betas. I love that idea! But I have come to associate with a circle of ladies that I feel strongly about as well. Some are readers, women who have reached out in a review or PM and we struck up a friendship. Others are fellow writers, women whose fics I have read and written to them, and they responded to my reviews. I'd like to mention these ladies now.

There's Cutest, (AKA Bqotfu or Bbetica) who happens to live about 340 miles away and in the same state as I do. Cutest writes the most amazing CSI-esque fics: "Crime Scene Denials & Forensic Anglels" and most recently "Blindsided". She has quickly become my "ficsis" (think Fic + Sis). We are so much alike, and have spent many hours chatting away on GChat about our fics and out RLs. I do believe she may just be the cutest thing I haven't met. Yet. ;) (soon, bb, soon!)

There's my own Personal Pirate, AD76 (AKA AutumnDreamer, Legacyff) Who writes "Legacy". This woman is the yen to my yang. She is every bit as crazy as I am, and maybe even more. I love that she doesn't mince words and "takes no crap". Not only do I respect AD's work, as she is an amazing author, but I respect her opinion as well. She is the first to tell me if something isn't working or needs to be tweaked, (well, after Dizzy, that is). Both Cutest and AD are pre-readers for Ride, and I'm sure you'll recognize their pen names from my A/Ns. Their input and opinions are invaluable to me! Thanks, ladies! I lub u crazy kids!

Then there's Lee723. Lee/Lisa/Twinsie/Crazy Ass. She's known by all these names. Lee is a reader and someone who makes my days easier to deal with. She tweets me throughout the day with crazy, funny comments and always brings a smile to my face. We, also have found quite a few similarities in one another, thus the Wonder Twins. We believe that we are twins separated at birth, although I was clearly born thirteen years before her. Gaw, did I really just admit that? Eeeep! You complete me, Twinisie!

Enter Megsly07. Meg! This is my time to go fangirl! Meg writes "Through Your Eyes", "Horizons", "A Dark Horizon", and "Boxing the Compass" among others. Meg can bring me from hysterical laughter to snotsobbing tears, in the same chapter. This woman, in conjunction with Cutest, has made it her personal mission to beat the ever loving wussperve out of me. (Wussperv=someone who fears the angst=me) Lately she's been pulling me into her GDocs and letting me see the master at work. It's truly humbling. Her comedic timing and sick perversion for all things heartfail have endeared her to me. One day, when she doesn't have so much crap on her plate, she may even read MY fic. Haha! Kidding, Meg. Kidding. <3

I would also like to mention a few ladies who leave amazing, constructive reviews and who twitter with me throughout the day. Janiiith, TwiChicky, TwilightMundi, and recently Breakawaygirl25. You ladies encourage me more than you will ever know, and it is a pleasure to say that I "know" you. Thanks for reading and investing in this little Ride of mine! ;)

So those are my TwiGirls! Each amazing women in their own rights, but as a collective whole, these ladies inspire and encourage me, making me want to be not only a better author, but a better person. Thank you, lovlies! Big fleshy hugs to each of you!

The Watcher O/S

MONTHS ago I wrote an o/s for the "I Love 80's Music" Contest. This contest held zero interest to me. Hell, I was intrenched in the 80's the FIRST time they were popular, do I REALLY need to live them again? I didn't think so. But then, WearingWords had to go pimping this contest all over Twitter, and somehow my interest was piqued.

Was it the fact that the fic had to based and closely follow an 80's song? Or was that it was required to have lemon(s)? Maybe it was the fact that I decided to enter the contest on a MONDAY and the deadline was on FRIDAY? (I know, Imma crazy) Or perhaps it was the 10K limit (high limit)? Or even the fact that it was an anonymous contest? Regardless of WHY I entered, by Monday evening I had messaged DizzyGrl28 and informed her of my plan. By that time I had a song and a basic outline conjured up to bounce off of her. She liked it, and like always, she was very supportive and encouraging. She just KNEW I could write this and have it ready to submit in THREE days. So I went to work.

By Wednesday I was wondering "what the hell I was thinking when I emailed the directors of the contest to let them know my song choice?! " My MAJOR FAIL moment came when I was GChatting with Dizzy on Wednesday night and she asked about the lemon. She was wondering how I was planned to work out the logistics of human male parts working on/in vampire female parts. My response was something along the lines of, "Og, my god. I have no clue. I am so fucked. How am I going to make this work?"

What's the big deal right? I mean it's all just make believe anyways, right? Wrong. Its got to be BELIEVABLE! And come on- who's going to believe that ANY man in his right mind would sick his wang in a freezing cold metal pipe that could snap it off when it constricted around him. (This was my exact description of how I imagined sex between a human male and vamp female would be when I was talking with Dizz.) This did not seem appealing to me in the least. And I don't have a wang that I am overprotective of. Thus began the the great smexin' search.

My Darth Beta whisked herself away, with only the "BRB" glaring in the chat window.

The next time she popped in a few minutes later, she explained that she had been jumping in and out of chat rooms and forums asking random, obscene questions about vamp/human sex. She the began scouring the fics for similar situations in them. As it turns out, these fics are rare and I now know why. I had a feeling that I would owe this woman BIG TIME for this one.

And hour and a half later the lemon and its logistics had been worked out, I was no longer panicked, and miracles of miracles, Dizzy had even tricked me into writing an outline! (The woman really IS a miracle worker!)

I finished up the o/s shipped it off to Darth Beta and took a deep breath. By Thursday night I had the o/s back and fully betaed. First thing Friday I sent the damn thing to the contest and almost puked. Thus began my month and a half vigil of the reviews. But that is all over now! Its my my fic again! And I have posted it! WOOT!

A few notes:

-This is a TRUE one shot. It WILL NOT be continued. Sorry folks.

-I am still and always be a review h00r. So GO REVIEW!

-Wussward is one of my fav Edwards so far. But Dadward is my #1!

I hope you enjoy The Watcher, I am proud of this fic, and I'm so glad I did it. I will say that it will be a while before I do anther contest again... the stress is more then I can take right now! LOL

Chapter Five- Masen's Music Lesson & Meeting Mr. Darcy

I have birthed a monster. At just under 12K, Chapter 5 deserved a mammoth of title.

Nothing about this chapter was easy. Three hundred words into it and I was blocked. Not going anywhere. After three days of staring at the screen I literally yelled, "Fuck it!" and walked away. Only to come back ten minutes latter, find a WC and start writing in a different place in the story line. That seemed to do the trick.

Four hours and 5K later, not only was the block gone, but the part of the chapter that has tortured me so was fixed and finished. Little did I know that I was FAR from finished!

Once again, DizzyGrl28 was there to talk me down from high places and encourage me. "Write what you feel comfortable with, Liz." "They'll read it if you write it. Stop worrying." She was right. It does work, and its an important chapter, but not the most important one. That one is yet to be written, and it kinda scares me.

Until then, I'll keep letting the story unfold. I love that you are reviewing! Its my favorite email notice to get. I've been meeting some of you in WCs and I have to say, you are talented writers in your own right. To know that my readers are writers is humbling, because I know what you are sacrificing to take the time to read my silly little fic. The Chapter from Hell

It's clear that we are getting close to Halloween, because even my fic is into the mood. Is it just me, or is it far to soon for me to be getting writer's block? I sure as hell think it it! So why is it that 1K into Chapter 4, the chapter I'v been dying to write, by the fucking way, I can't find the words? Bella and Eddo have clammed the hella up and refuse to give it up. These two are a couple of fucking teases, I swear!

I've done every trick I can think of, I forced it- writing when I so didn't even feel like writing. I've tried a WC(Writer's Challenge)- what happened the last time I did a WC? Oh, well I wrote an epic 4,500 words in 3 hours, that's what! But this last time, I FELL ASLEEP! I know, right? Sad. (In my defense I haven't been well, but that's not important.) I've begged other authors and readers alike to finish it for me, and I have no idea why each and everyone have refused my very generous offer to guest write a chapter of "Ride". :snickers: I have also tried just forgetting about it. Walk away from the MacTop and just do something fun and non-FF related. *GASP* Non-FF related? It does exist people, and I did it. I went to a concert and had a ton of fun, only to come home and glare menacingly at the beloved MacT0p. I'm starting to get pissed, people.

I'm under a time crunch here. Monday is Update Day, and whilst I have a fuck awesome beta, that can turn a fic around like nobody's business, it isn't fair to hand her a fic Sunday and say, "Can I get this for Monday afternoon?" Dizz has her own amazing shit she's writing, I'm not the only author she betas for, not to mention a real life filled with job, home, and a couple of teenaged manboys. So see my point? Imma freaking out over the deadline thing here.

I have one more trick by my not-so-author's- sleeve. I'm just gonna skip the part that's hitching me up and try to write around it, and come back to it later. Tonight is writing night. I'm goning to try to find a WC and live there until Ch 4 is written and off my back. I really just want to bitch slap this chapter, really I do.

So... I'm doing everything I can to pop this chappie out to you by Monday. No excuses, no extensions. Imma doing the best this baby fic writer can do! Cross your fingers and hope that this works, people. I need all the luck I can get.

Chapter Three- Beaches and Butterflies, Updated!!

Chapter Three: Beaches and Butterflies has been updated!! Wow! We're really doing this, huh? I'm sooo excited!

To celebrate my b-day yesterday, I thought I'd post some goodies to go with the chapter.

First here are a few pictures of Bella's beach house. It will be explained soon how she can afford such luxury! BTW- I pass this house everyday on my way to and from work. Its really MY dream house, but I'll never have it. At least Bella can! Look closely at the rooftop (right side of pic) and you can see the roof deck that Bella and Edward will be spending some "quality time" on, soon enough!

Birthday Blues Banished!

I hate my birthday. No, I'm serious. I get all emo and brooding when it gets close and we'll just leave it at that. I'd hate to make you emo, too!

This being said, I have had an amazing birthday today! Well, it started yesterday and continued to today and was filled with surprises and fabulous people. Last night I was kidnapped and whisked off to see, FAME! by one of best and closest friends. Just being with her is a fucktastic time, but she knew how badly I had wanted to see FAME and made sure that I did just that! Thanks, Kitty Kat!

Then today, my family made a wonderful dinner for me, and my adorable nieces and nephew decorated a beautifully delicious cake. Any day is better when I'm around those three munchkins, so that was very special. Shout out the kiddos: Aunt Sissy loves you!!

My beautiful Cake: Yes, those are Christmas AND Halloween candies on there. They made some comment that I was a "woman for all seasons"? Goof-balls!

Afterwards I was summoned to the afore mentioned BFF, Kat's house for a mysterious "evening of fun". I should have known...

I walked into this :

We watched a screening of Twi on the big screen, ate amazing food, laughed until we cried, and she gave me some amazing gifts. The best of which was the surprise of the party. I had no idea! It was one of the best frigging surprises ever!

She also covered me with Twi-gifts. She had just told me on Saturday that she had been to look for the new Twilight line from Bath & Body works, but that it hadn't been released yet. She said it would be available after Nov 2. I believed her, 'cus- Why shouldn't I?

She's a sneaky one that Kitty Kat is! And I love her for it!

Moving Right Along...

Ride is deffinatly moving along! CH3 is currently being beta-ed and CH4 is in the works. I have several goodies to add to the site once CH3 is updated. Pics of Bella's house, the other "man" in her life, and a special goodie from kissyourself! She's been busy, AGAIN!

So far so good on keeping my weekly posting schedule! Here's to me being able to keep it up! As for Ch3 it will be posted Monday, as promised, and contains lemony goodness.

I often wonder what readers think about the lemons I write. I know how I feel after reading an epic lemon of fucktastic proportions written by one of favorite authors or another: HOT and BOTHERED! However, I don't get that from my own lemons. I guess because I wrote them and all ready know what to expect? Maybe its because I have to pine and pour over them to be sure that they make sense and that takes all the fun out of reading them? Well, for whatever sick twisted reason, the lemon for Ch 3 did crazy things to my girlie bits when I re-read it for editing. I just hope it does the same for you guys...

I'm off to write some on CH4. Edward gets a say this chapter, I love hearing what goes on in his head. The family make their debut this chapter as well!

I love reading fanfic. I love coming across new and exciting story lines. A while back I was introduced to Dizzygrl28 through Whitlock's Girl as a possible beta for my stories. I figured I should at the very least be able to say that I knew what this chick had written. Thus was my introduction to "Teacher's Pet". This fic had me at the first A/N.

Dizzy is twelve chapters into this fic, and each chapter has me wondering, "When the hell is the other shoe gonna drop?" This fic is AH, and when we meet her, 18 year old Bella is a Senior at Forks High. She also has a wicked crush on her teacher, Mr. Carlisle Cullen! That's right, kiddies, I said Carlisle! Miss Bella isn't the tame, sweet, shy character we are used to in FF. This Bella is strong and goes after what she wants. That would be Mr. Hot Bitch Cullen. She proceeds to attempt to seduce him, during the middle of class, no less.

Edward is very present in this fic. He has a crush on Bella, and can see that something is going on between Bella and their teacher, but he has no proof. Can Edward lure Bella away from Carlsile? Will Carlsile and Bella make it work? Go read the damn fic and find out for yourself, lazy ass!

This is a very easy read. And fuck me, its hot. Steamy hot. Break out the shamwow, ladies. You're gonna need it. Lemons abound!

One Day!!!!

I thought I was nervous yesterday... I had no clue!

Now I'm excited and- NERVOUS! I want you guys to have this chapter soo badly. Here's how this will work, I think. I definitely will be posting this later on. Maybe in the afternoon, maybe in the evening, depending on my schedule and when the winners are announced. So that's out of my control.

I really hope to be updating weekly, probably on Mondays, maybe Sundays. That depends on too many things to waste your or my time here with. So, basically- I don't have any freaking definite details other than RoYL will update it's 2nd Chapter sometime after noon on MONDAY. Sorry. To make up for my failure as a human being I bring a peace offering.

Two Days Until Chapter Two!

The nerves are building... This is worse than when I posted the damn one shot! Maybe because since then I've written a few other things and not been as pleased with the response to one in particular.

While there have been a lot of very nice, positive things said, there really hasn't been much interest in one fic in particular. Its one of those where you pour yourself into it, are fucking relieved when its finished, and put it out there only to have a, "Meh, it was interesting..." response. I can't even respond to the 10 responses I've had so far because its an ANONYMOUS contest! Haha! I find it a little frustrating, that's all. Not to mention that the only thing I want to do is pull it down and post it on my profile to see what you guys think about it. Its definitely a different concept, but I figured it would generate some interest. You know, stand out from the others. Hell, I like a good "E meets B, B falls for E, E doesn't feel worthy, E leaves B, B is broken and lost, E comes back to her, E and B live happily ever after" fic as much as the next gal, but the stories that I love, the ones that I want to read again and again are the ones that totally stand out in the crowd. I kinda thought this anonymous fic was like that, and it just might be exactly that, but hell! There ARE fifty-four fucking entries! I'll be entirely surprised and honored if I make it past the first round of voting. We shall see...

I'm just venting, not really mad or upset. I received a bizzaro review today, and didn't quite know how to take it. I pine over the reviews I leave for authors. Most are simple an sincere. Some are elaborate and creative. But each is carefully worded, so that the person who reads it knows full well how much I am grateful for their words and time. Not all are long winded, (shut it. I can do brief, damn it!) but all are heartfelt. Don't get me wrong, I am a review hOOr, and a quickly left review is better than no review (with the EXPRESS exception of leaving a " :)" or "Good Job!" as a review! Please, please, NEVER do that! Haha!); but as a READER I kinda look at the situation like this:

I just spent anywhere from twenty minutes to an hour reading this author's fic, that they spent days slaving over. Shunning real life, shirking responsibilities, and shedding blood sweat & tears to write this for my sorry ass to read for FREE. The least I can do is take FIVE more minutes to write a review that reflects how I felt about their work.

OK, I'm done. I'm getting off my soap box, and going to pillage my cabinets for chocolate. I need a hit of the good stuff to bring me back to my happy place so I can write Chapter 3 tonight. It's started and :GASP: outlined, but I gotta go listen to these two crazy kids be all mushy and write it all down so you can read it and REVIEW! Haha!

I really am excited about Chapter 2 of Ride of Your Life posting on Monday. It will probably be in the evening, EST. Just so you know! ;)

Thanks for reading, and reviewing. I can't believe that you people read ANY of the crap I write. Every time I get a doc back from Dizzy and she tells me she liked it (or amazingly, that she loved it) I'm just so grateful that it didn't suck. Hell, I might be happy with a review that said, "Well, it didn't suck..." LOL

The voting for the 80s One Shot contest has begun. This was the anonymous contest that I entered last week, but can't tell which one I wrote. I can't even give you hits, because that's just wrong and shitty to do. The whole fucking point of it being anonymous is that you and that fucktastic writer are on the same level for once. Well, on the same level as in nobody knows who wrote which story so its not a popularity contest. If you suck as a writer then, sorry, no amount of anonymity will help you win out against a LolaShoes or AngstGoddess003. Not even fuck hot lemons. Again, sorry. I have a feeling that my little o/s fits into this category, but I can't tell for sure. I've had a few reviews, all positive, none glowing, and a few left by pretty recognizable authors. Chapter Two has and Update Date!

Okay, peeps and Tweeps, Ride has an official update date for chapter 2!!

Nina will announce the winners of the DILF Contest on the 11th, and will be posting the update for Chapter 2 on the 12th in an effort to dull the pain of losing (I have no hopes of winning. Have you SEEN some of those entries? WOW!).

Once I'm free and clear to continue the story I will do my best to make regular weekly updates. I simply can't do any more than that between real life and my make believe world that I sometimes retreat to. (I'm beautiful and super skinny and well laid in that world, by the way. So I like to spend quite a lot of time there! ;) )

TRoYL has TWO Banners!!

So I was twittering today... I know, big surprise. Anyway, I was bitching about how I wanted banners for Ride but how I'm total FAIL at PhotoShop.

Then I met an angel, and her name is janiiith, AKA kissyourself on FFn. She had read and reviewed Ride and was following my spastic tweets, god love her. She pops in and says "I can make you one." I almost squee-ed, but that may have spooked the monsters and then we would have had an uprising or stampeed or what ever hordes of crazed monsters do when they are spooked. So I remained calm and sent her a few of my fav RPatz and KStew pics. The next thing I know I get links to these back:

New ONE SHOT!

So, I'm being kind of mean here. I DO have a new o/s, however, if I told you about it, I'd have to kill you. Maybe not, but I'm not sure. I've never done anything like this before, so I'm a little sketchy on the details.

I submitted an entry to the NaughtHealsAnonymousContest! This is my second entry in a contest this week. First DILFward now ____ward. I can't give any details because then it wouldn't be anonymous, right?

This contest had a few criteria.

One- It had to be about an 80's song, and the storyline had to follow the lyrics in the song. The idea intrigued me.

Two- All entries had to be anonymous, hence why this BEAST is not going on my FFn profile. (At least not YET!)

Three- There was a deadline. Nothing new there, most contests do. So the deadline for this contest is the 30th. Of SEPTEMBER. I started writing it, WEDNESDAY, the 24th. I have never written anything this quickly before, and I hope to hell it doesn't show in the quality of the writing. It was the most difficult thing I've written yet, FF or regular fiction. The subject matter was completely foreign to me, there was an epic lemon that isn't done much on FF (I now know why the fuck that is!), a 10K word maximum (that's just mean to do to me. I'm a wordy one), and I had a deadline that was beating me over the head!

Once again, my beta came to the rescue, staying to chat with me for hours, asking her author friends strange and random questions, and rereading old fics that kind of addressed our problems, but not really. We worked it out in the end, and Dizzy even tricked me into doing an outline! (I don't do those, I think I may be allergic to the outline. No, seriously.) She's a tricky one, my beta.

So the fic is in Dizzy's very capable beta hands, and as soon as it's posted to the contest site I will post back here so you can all go and read all the amazing creative fics revolving around some of our favorite 80's songs.

A New Woman in My Life...

Okay. Just stop right there. I didn't mean romantically, although I may love this woman! ;)

I'm referring to my amazing, talented, smart as hell, and Grammatically Gifted Beta: Dizzygrl28!!!!

This lady takes my overuse of semi colons, misplaced hyphens, laughable misspellings, this bizarre obsession I have with the ellipsis (...), all the other multitudes of mistakes I make and quite literally makes them readable. Add to THAT monumental task the fact that I can count on her for anything from pinging me with the addy for Thesaurus.com when I flipping out on Twitter because I can't come up with a synonym for "focus" (my thesaurus was being FAIL that day), to bouncing ideas around with me, and not being shy about telling me that the sentence I just agonized over for the past 15 min is crap- my words, not hers. She'll even whip out an amazing alternative for my crappy sentence, and nine times out of ten, it will be the sentence I was trying so hard to write myself. I think she may just be a descendant of Rumpelstiltskin, because she takes my words and spins them into gold.

Take all this awesomeness that is the Dizzmiester, and throw in the fact she's an outstanding writer herself- I must say she amazes me.

Am I gushing? Well, I may just have a girl crush after all! ;)

Forever, Liz is my home base for all things FanFic. Here I will be posting updates for my stories, background info on them, pictures, and character developments. This is not a site for youngins, so if you are not old enough to vote, or as Emmett would say, "Buy porn" then get the hell out, please. There may or may not be discussion of grown up activities and there will definitely be grown up language used; AKA Fucking swear words.

Lastly, I have been bogging for many years now. I have been a writer of FF for only a few short months now, and reader of it for just a bit longer than that. But I have a pretty good idea of what I want for this blog. I'm not professional, and most of the crap on here is my useless opinion, not worth shit, really. This is just a fun way for me to connect with the readers who have been contacting me on FanFic.net. I look forward to keeping you in the loop, feeding your FF addictions, and hopefully fanning my own in the process!
